Abstract

The development of information technologies at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century brought great changes and progress in all spheres of life. The digital transformation of the school started, or should have started, the moment the first computer was implemented in the schools. This means that the digital transformation of schools started at the end of the last century. As with any other change in any area of life or work, initially, there was resistance to change at schools. Although technology is an inseparable part of our lives, this is still not the case at schools. Namely, the resistance made it impossible for schools to keep up with the times, and for some time now we have been in a situation where, on the one hand, it is necessary to train the teaching staff in the use of digital technologies - to make them digitally literate - while on the other hand, it is necessary to ensure that schools have appropriate equipment. Based on the above, the importance and usefulness of digitalizing school processes will be highlighted on the example of the Technical School in Zaječar. Digitalization of school processes has a significant impact, first of all, on improving the quality of the teaching process, but also quantitatively, on reducing the time it takes to implement other processes that take place in the school. In this sense, we view digital transformation as the use of digital technologies in the areas of management, collaboration and networking, infrastructure and equipment, continuous professional development, teaching and learning, evaluation, and digital competencies of students. Thanks to the leadership that manages the school in real-time, the digital transformation of the Technical School in Zaječar started a long time ago and is seen as a constant, continuous process of digital growth of the school's capacity in all segments of the school ecosystem.
