SECOND CALL FOR THE SUBMISSION OF PAPERS FOR THE 2ND THEMATIC ISSUE OF THE JOURNAL "PEDAGOGICAL REALITY" FOR THE YEAR 2023 TITLED "DIGITAL LITERACY"

Dear Colleagues,

The Pedagogical Society of Vojvodina and the Department of Pedagogy, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad invite you to submit papers for publication in the special, thematic issue "Digital Literacy" of the journal "Pedagogical Reality", the 2nd issue of year 2023.

Digital literacy arises with the development of human society, with the digitization of human knowledge and the development of digital technologies. Digital literacy should not replace traditional forms of literacy, but it represents one of the new forms of modern literacy in the information age. Unlike computer and information literacy, the concept of digital literacy is more recent. It refers to the ability to read and understand digitally recorded texts, hypertexts and multimedia texts. Since Gilster's concept and other authors in the 90s, the clarification of digital literacy term has wandered.

In recent years, especially during the COVID 19 pandemic, from kindergartens to schools and higher education, we have seen everyone's rapid efforts to adapt and create an environment for learning at home and online education environments where children, students and teachers can interact. To what extent were these solutions effective, or even available? How well were we trained to use tools correctly, to find, evaluate, create and transmit information in digital format? Finally, whether and to what extent digital competences can protect us from the misuse of modern technologies?

This thematic issue aims to provide the authors with an opportunity to interdisciplinary look at the idea of digital literacy through theoretical considerations, data from scientific research procedures and examples of experiences and good practices for professionals, scientists and the general public.

The procedure for submitting and editing the journal "Pedagogical Reality" is implemented through the journal's electronic platform: http://pedagoskastvarnost.ff.uns.ac.rs . Since 2002, the journal "Pedagogical reality" has the character of a publication of special interest for science (category M52).

The deadline for submitting papers for the 2nd issue of the journal in 2023 is October 15, 2023.
